Domaso and surroundings

Domaso
Domaso is a municipality with around 1,500 inhabitants in the province of Como. The idyllic fishing village is divided into two districts. On the one hand, you will find the original old town with its fishing harbour, small shops and cosy restaurants. On the other hand, there is a headland with sports and leisure facilities, restaurants, holiday homes and campsites, walking trails and evening events in summer.

The lakeside path from Domaso to Gravedona in the south and Gera Lario in the north is ideal for walking, jogging and cycling. The lakeside path offers a wonderful atmosphere, especially in the evening.

Vercana
Vercana is a tranquil mountain village on a hill above Domaso. From there, you have a wonderful panoramic view over Lake Como. The Baroque village church of San Salvatore is also a sight worth seeing in this small village. With its narrow streets, the village centre has a typical Italian flair. The village can be reached on foot or by car from Domaso.

Gera Lario
Gera Lario is located north of Domaso and is a traditional fishing village. The small alleys and shops as well as the weekly market invite you to explore this small town. At the marina, you will find cafés and a restaurant by the lake where you can relax. The fishing harbour is right next door.
Gera Lario offers several beautiful beaches, some with sand or playgrounds. There is a surfing and sailing school as well as a long lake promenade with sporting and cultural events in summer.
A large lakeside garden area with a beach pool, bocce court and a large children’s playground invites you to linger and offers activities for all ages.
Visitors interested in culture should take a look at the two churches in Gera Lario, which bear witness to the long history of the town since its foundation in Roman times.
The highlight of Gera Lario is the lakeside path from the Ponte des Passo bridge north of Gera to Domaso. Explore the route on foot, by bike or while jogging.
