Lake Como is a dream for water sports of all kinds. From late morning until evening, reliable winds provide ideal conditions, especially on the upper part of the lake, the “Alto Lario”. In addition, the lake is not as crowded as other Italian lakes. Ideal for sailing on Lake Como.
For sailing, we recommend the northernmost end around Colico and the upper part of the western shore with Gera Lario, Domaso, Gravedonna and Pianello del Lario. Here you will also find most of the sailing schools on Lake Como as well as the best water sports spots.
Experience the crystal clear waters directly from the lake on a sailing boat. In the “Alto Lario” you will find many sailing schools offering beginner and advanced courses for adults and children or you can even bring your own sailing boat to your holiday on Lake Como.
As an ideal starting point, we can offer you numerous beautiful holiday accommodations in this area, some even directly on the lake or near the lake and, on request, also with parking space for your own sailing boat. So your holiday with sailing and catamaran on Lake Como can begin virtually on your doorstep.

You can take courses at the many water sports and sailing schools on Lake Como. The instructors mostly speak German and English. In the sailing schools on Lake Como you can rent equipment and boats or take part in courses in English and German. The sailing schools usually offer courses for beginners and advanced sailors from April to October.
If you would like to bring your own sailing boat, we will be happy to help you find a suitable and safe berth. You can also often rent a place in the harbour for the duration of your holiday on Lake Como.
For a pitch, the meadow of the Sporting Club Domaso is also recommended. Here you can rent a pitch for sailing boats, dinghies, catamarans, jet skis and more for the duration of your holiday. In addition, you are well catered for here for a full day on and off the water, with a large sun terrace, toilets, showers.

Enjoy Lake Como from a boat on the water and experience the beautiful lake and mountain scenery or the villas and for refreshment in between still bathing in the lake.
For some years now, sailing and catamaran regattas, organised by the Circolo Vela Canoteri Domaso sailing association, have been taking place more frequently, especially in spring.

The wind is mostly gusty and at high speed away from land and towards Como/Lecco. Usually underestimated, but dangerous especially with small boats.
