Colico is a small community with about 8,000 inhabitants directly on Lake Como. Another highlight in Colico is the river Adda, which flows into Lake Como. Fishing is possible in front of this river and near the nature reserve. Furthermore, Monte Legnone is located here, which with its 2,609 metres is the highest peak on Lake Como. It offers local people some opportunities for hiking and beautiful nature with a breathtaking view of the Alps and the lake.
Not far from the town are the remains of the ancient fortress Forte di Fuentes. There are only remains of individual parts of the fortress, but the view and the beautiful nature surrounding the fortress make a visit absolutely worthwhile. For all the information about the fortress and its history, there are signs in several places on the fortress grounds that bring the history of the Forte di Fuentes back to life. The fortress square is surrounded by beautiful footpaths. You can start hiking directly from your holiday flat in Colico.

Every Friday morning there is a weekly market in Colico where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables as well as many other groceries, clothing and handicrafts. During the summer months, the weekly market is also open on Sundays. You can buy ingredients for various dishes at the weekly market and then prepare them in your holiday flat in Colico.
Colico convinces with its idyllic nature and Italian flair. It is the ideal place for a relaxing holiday on Lake Como with the family, which can be arranged flexibly. Whether it’s a hiking, water sports or swimming holiday, Colico has a lot to offer. Milan is also easy to reach by train from Colico. The city at the northern end of Lake Como is very diverse.
