Mandello del Lario

Mandello is a beautiful lakeside town and popular destination for Moto-Guzzi fans. Here you will find the headquarters of the Moto-Guzzi factory and a Moto-Guzzi museum. The beautiful shore promenade and fishing harbour are ideal for long walks.

For day trips, there are hikes in the surrounding mountain group “Le Grigne” and the rock “San Giorgio” is also worth a visit. If you want to enjoy a magnificent view, you should not miss a visit to the pilgrimage church of Santa Maria.

For motorbike fans, this place is an ideal starting point for excursions. You can also meet like-minded people at the annual Moto-Guzzi meeting.

Lecco

Lecco is the capital of the province of the same name and is located at the southern end of the right arm of Lake Como. The city is surrounded by a fascinating mountain world, which invites you to go hiking, mountaineering or climbing in summer and skiing in winter. The beautiful, historic old town with its winding alleys, many small cafés and nice restaurants invites you to linger. There is also a pretty pedestrian zone with many small boutiques (Italian fashion).

Good shopping opportunities can also be found in the “Centro Meridiana” shopping centre with free parking. The waterfront promenade with a view of the bay and dreamlike scenery and benches invite you to linger. There are also various historical buildings and museums that are always worth a visit.

Lierna

Lierna is a small town with an old centre on the southern part of Lake Como with a beautiful mountain backdrop between Varenna and Mandello. The small lakeside promenade invites you for a walk. The idyllic old town peninsula with the medieval castle Castello is always worth a visit.

The village has small grocery shops, a butcher’s shop, a fruit shop and a local bakery.

With the car:

Beautiful lakeside road along the eastern shore (motorway in tunnel) towards Colico and Lecco.

Good connection on the eastern shore: Panorama train connects most towns on the eastern shore with Chiavenna and Milan
