Domaso and surrounding area

Domaso

Domaso is a municipality with about 1,500 inhabitants in the province of Como. The idyllic fishing village is divided into two parts. On the one hand, you can find the original old town with its fishing harbour, small shops and cosy restaurants. On the other hand, you will find a spit of land with sports and leisure facilities, restaurants, holiday homes & camping sites, walking opportunities and evening events in summer.

Vercana

Vercana is a tranquil mountain village on a hill above Domaso. From there you have a wonderful panoramic view over Lake Como. In addition, the baroque village church “San Salvatore” is an attraction of the small village. The village centre has a typical Italian flair with its small alleys. From Domaso, the village can be reached on foot or by car.

Gera Lario

Gera Lario is located north of Domaso and is an original fishing village. The small alleys and shops as well as the weekly market invite you to explore the little village. At the marina you will find cafés and a lakeside restaurant to linger in. Right next door you will find the fishing harbour.

Gera Lario offers several beautiful beaches, some with sand or playgrounds. There is a surfing and sailing school as well as a long lakeside promenade with sports and cultural events in summer.

A large lakeside garden with a beach pool, bowling alley and a large children’s playground invites you to linger and offers activities for all ages.

Cultural enthusiasts should take a look at the two churches worth seeing in Gera Lario, which bear witness to the town’s long history since its foundation in Roman times.

The highlight of Gera Lario is the riverside path from the Ponte des Passo bridge north of Gera to Domaso. Explore the route on foot, by bike or on a jog.
