Would you like to explore the beautiful places like Bellagio, Varenna, Menaggio or Como together with your four-legged friend? No problem: you can take your dog along to the city trips on Lake Como.
You can also take your dog (on a lead) to the famous historic villas with beautiful gardens.
And you can also explore Lake Como together with your dog by boat. On the car ferries and normal passenger ships, all dogs are allowed (fares similar to those for children), the speedboats unfortunately only allow small dogs. Please note that dogs must be kept on a leash.
Enjoy the lake with long walks along the lakeside promenades. At the designated dog beaches, such as the dog beach between Gravedona and Dongo, you can take your dog to the beach without a leash, so romping in the water is also guaranteed for your dog.
Whether directly on the lake, by a river, in a bay or on a mountain – there are countless possibilities for walking, hiking or biking with your dog while enjoying the lake and the mountains on Lake Como. For those who like it flatter, walks along lakeside promenades, headlands or in the Pian di Spagna nature reserve are ideal. For the more adventurous, there are walks above Colico, in the Valtellina valley or in the Chiavenna valley. An active holiday on Lake Como with your dog will not only give your four-legged friend a good workout, but you too.
On holiday in Italy, a visit to a restaurant with pizza, pasta and wine is virtually obligatory. And in Italy you can usually take your four-legged friend with you without any problems. However, if in doubt, please inform yourself beforehand, as it can unfortunately happen that dogs are not allowed in restaurants/cafés. But especially on terraces and in outdoor areas, dogs are usually almost always allowed. Going out for a meal with your dog on Lake Como is a great experience for masters, mistresses and their four-legged friends. Be aware of the leash requirement and take a muzzle with you.
