San Giuseppe is located at 1500 meters above sea level, surrounded by mountains and mountain villages, above the larger village of Chiesa Valmalenco, in the province of Sondrio, in Lombardy. An attraction for all mountain lovers in both summer and winter.
The mountain village is located approx. 23 km from Sondrio and is close to the two torrents Torrente Entovasco and Torrente Mallero.

In the nearby mountain oasis Sabbio, the spa in the basement is available to you by arrangement and booking.
You can use the fantastic spa area with pool, two saunas and a relaxation room at a preferential price.

The Masun vacation house is divided into two levels.
An external staircase takes you to the second floor of the chalet where the open-plan living area with fitted kitchen is located.
Lovingly furnished in a rustic style, it exudes a homely atmosphere thanks to the natural materials used and the antique-looking wood-burning stove.
The bathroom is on the same level and has a self-made wooden towel rail.
A staircase inside the house takes you to the first floor, where the two bedrooms await you.
You will find privacy in the bedroom with a double bed, while the second bedroom has 2 bunk beds for 2 people each, ideal for children or friends.
There is direct access to the garden from the bedrooms.
The garden plot is surrounded by nature with a view of the mountains and offers relaxation and tranquillity in the garden, which is equipped with garden furniture and sun loungers.

The chalet was designed by the owner Massimo Tarca himself. He is an architect who attaches great importance to natural materials and environmentally friendly technology.
This is reflected in the interior design of the house. High-quality wood and natural materials have been lovingly used here and invite you to enjoy rustic, cozy living.

A garden plot surrounded by nature with a view of the mountains offers relaxation and tranquillity in the garden, which is equipped with garden furniture and sun loungers.

Guests of the Masun vacation apartment have the opportunity to use the wellness and spa area of the Residenze Bergoase Sabbio, which is approx. 3 minutes away by car.

Located in the basement, the fantastic spa area with pool, two saunas and a relaxation room invites you to relax.

The chalet with the Masun vacation apartment is situated in a quiet location, surrounded by nature with a view of the mountains.
In summer, this area offers our guests various hiking and trekking tours, as well as mountain bike tours.
For those who do not want to set out on their own, we recommend the local sports center Centro Sportivo Isola. It offers horseback riding, mountain bike tours and much more.
In winter, the area is an ideal starting point for cross-country and downhill skiing.

The Masun vacation house is located in the middle of idyllic nature, approx. 20 km from Sondrio. Sondrio is the largest town in Valtellina and offers a wide range of restaurants and shopping facilities.
There is a train connection from Sondrio to Lecco (from Colico along Lake Como) and to Tirano, which lies at 1087 meters above sea level.

One of the oldest churches in Sondrio, the collegiate church of Santi Gervasio e Protasio, which was mentioned in the 12th century, is impressive.
The Valtellina was originally Catholic, but the first Protestant churches were built in the 15th century. Over time, the Catholic faith began to be reformed, which resulted in many Protestant deaths. Only a few Protestant priests managed to escape to Graubünden.

Morbegno is another town worth visiting, located on the train line to Colico and only 25 km from Sondrio.
Here you will find small stores and restaurants as well as historic wine cellars in the winding streets of the old town, which are well worth a visit.
There are also historic churches to visit as well as the Palazzo Malacrida, which is located in the upper part of the town. Rich in rococo architecture and with an impressive ballroom on the second floor, this palazzo also has plenty of frescoes adorning its walls.

From easy to difficult, the region offers various destinations for all sports enthusiasts: The hike to Lago Palù, which is located at 1921 meters, the more challenging tour to the Cristina refuge, over the Campo Moro and Campagneda lakes with a difference in altitude of 480 meters, up to the difficult hike to the Ghiacciao Fellaria glacier and the Campo Moro dams with a difference in altitude of approx. 700 meters.
Of course, culinary delights are also provided for: for example, the Sasso Nero restaurant awaits you on the way to Lago Palù. Here you can sample local specialties such as cheese and cold cuts from the region, the typical Valtellina dish pizzoccheri and local wines.

The Centro Sportivo Isola is ideally located: here you can book various activities directly on site. In summer, mountain bikes can be hired and tours offered, as well as Nordic walking courses and excursions with horses.
In winter, you can hire ski equipment and try out the various cross-country ski trails. Courses are offered for beginners.

Maintenance

There are 2 parking spaces at the house.

A deposit of the tour price is due upon receipt of our booking confirmation. The deposit is between 20% and 30% of the tour price and is determined according to the specifications of your contractual partner/owner.
For hotels and some property providers, the remaining amount must be paid on site. This is stated in the booking confirmation.
The balance is to be paid by bank transfer 3 weeks before the start of the trip. For bookings made at short notice from 21 days before the start of the trip, the total price is due immediately.

Please understand that, for reasons of discretion, our rental partners do not wish to appear online.
We are happy to answer your questions to the best of our ability - we know all the vacation homes personally and visit and evaluate them several times a year.
